Another June Macro - Marguerite - ville

June 21, 2012  •  1 Comment

C Garden Macro 013 Tuesday it was overcast in the morning and I was walking around Claire's garden. The Marguerites are pretty much in full bloom but I noticed a few that were just opening up yielding these 1/2 inch wide yellow crowns. I framed the flower on some green background foliage and shot at a wide aperture for a very shallow depth of field. I wanted just the lead edge in focus. I did other shots with more of the flower in focus but I really liked the look from this image. The open aperture also allowed a faster shutter speed to maintain sharpness as there was a light breeze. Nikkor 85mm macro, f5, 1/640.
